My Neck, My Back, My Neck and my Back!

May 19, 2017

You roll out of bed and suddenly you feel it—a stifling pain in your neck. You can’t move your head without feeling an unwelcome twinge, and the normal early morning stretching doesn’t help. What have you done?

Chances are, it wasn’t a single movement that caused this pain. Rather, it’s probably an issue that’s been building over time—the culmination of misaligned body positions, repetitive movements and other aspects of your environment that caught up to you on this unfortunate morning.

While some chronic pain may be caused by arthritis, permanent tissue damage or a long-standing injury, others are the results of harmful patterns repeated day after day. For example, sitting for extended periods of time can be tough on your back and neck because it puts your pelvis in an extreme position, especially if you cross your legs or hang forward.

Can any of you relate to the repeated harmful patterns (i.e., constantly in the seated position?)  I sure can.  Once I became aware of the harmful habits, I had to do something. As the brilliant Maya Angelou said "I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.”

How do I do better?  Essentrics!

Me before Essentrics. I carried a lot of stress in my shoulders, my postures was not the best ( I used to slouch in chair a lot), and I slept on a crappy pillow. Well......Lets just say those bad habits caught up with me. My neck was always hurting, my lower back issued continued discomfort, and I had trouble relaxing my shoulders.

And Then I Found Essentrics!!! A friend introduced me to Essentrics.  I tried it and fell in love!  I wanted to be a part of Essentrics, so I dedicated time studying and crafting the art, and became certified.  I now help others enjoy the benefits of Essentrics.

How about you?  Are you dealing with any unfortunate and unwanted discomforts?  Have you picked up any bad habits that rear its ugly head through muscular aches and pain?  Please share, I know I am not alone here!!
